Gao Anming, the editor-in-chief of China International Communications Group, stated that as entities of the Global South, China and Latin America possess common developmental aspirations and philosophies. He articulated the need for both regions to harmonize tradition with innovation, thereby ensuring cultural continuity while tailoring unique modernization pathways. Additionally, he expressed that such collaboration could accelerate technological advancements and lead to significant civilizational contributions with a global impact.

Karina Batthyány, the Executive Secretary of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), highlighted China’s significant journey in modernization, which has successfully raised 800 million individuals from poverty and established itself as an economic powerhouse. She asserted that with a substantial part of the global population and workforce, China’s continued growth over the past 40 years serves as an impressive model for the LAC region, emphasizing a people-centered and domestically driven approach.

María Fernanda Pampín, the Director of the Publication Department at CLACSO, lauded China’s modernization as a pioneering model for global development, noting that it presents new avenues for advancement for nations worldwide. She considered it a milestone that will increasingly influence development theories and broader societal implications.

Kang Zhen, Vice President of Beijing Normal University, remarked on the new opportunities arising from cultural exchanges and South-South cooperation, fostering joint efforts towards modernization. The forum benefited from the collaboration of China’s State Council Information Office, Peru’s Ministry of Culture, and the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament.
